ABOUT EIGHT MAIDS A-MILKING

Yup! You may be right - it's a funny name for a website. However, my memoir highlights my mum, Gwen, who had the silkiest soft skin. Mum always put it down to her milking so many cows at her foster family's home, where she slept in the barn with the other farm animals. My sister, Carole, would probably assume that the image of the moo cow was a selfie of YT; however, it's of a random cow that I think looks quite sweet. Eight Maids a-Milking also emanates from the Christmas jingle. As you'll read in the memoir, Chrissy was always my mum's favourite time of year. Mum shared a barn with several cows and farm animals when she was fostered (back in the day.) One of her most vivid memories was receiving a package on Christmas Day of a plastic comb for her thick, curly hair. Go figure! She was thrilled, as life was harsh and austere for her. She made up for it when she had kids of her own and made Christmas the most magical time of year for us all!
